Bringing ALL students together: FRC + Unified Robotics at the Pine Tree District 2025 Event

Updated: Mar 21

Heading way up the coast to our most northeastern event, we returned to The Colisée in Maine for our 8th annual Pine Tree District Event!

31 teams from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts made the trip for our second event in Maine this season. With three events scheduled for Week 3, 100+ teams competed all over our region at once on Saturday, March 15.

But that's not all: for the second year, the Pine Tree District Event hosted Unified Robotics side-by-side with FRC. For the past decade, Unified Robotics has hoped to inspire students with and without intellectual disabilities to consider STEM careers, as well as unite students of diverse abilities as teammates and competitors on this field of play.

Four Unified teams participated in challenges via Re:Play, the 2020 FLL Challenge game, inside The Colisée with REEFSCAPE teams.

Two of three winners of the Southern Maine District Event came back together during qualification match 11 for a penalty-free high score of 224, our highest yet in New England (and the only time we've seen scores over 200!)

But the playoffs were entirely different, with a strong set of alliances that came together for amazing final matches.
