Celebrating 10 years of the NE FIRST Hartford District Event with Hartford Public Schools

Updated: Apr 10

The last REEFSCAPE district event to close out its results in New England was also at our only venue that has hosted a qualifying event EVERY year since 2014!

Hartford Public High School has hosted the Hartford District Event 10 times in 12 years, only taking a break when FRC itself did in 2020 and 2021. We are incredibly grateful for this partnership with school and district leadership!

Thank you to everyone who inspired our students during ceremonies:

  • HPHS Superintendent (and SCUBA diver!) Dr. Leslie Torres-Rodriguez

  • CT Chief Manufacturing Officer Paul Lavoie

  • Medtronic Sr. Mechanical Engineer and FIRST alum/mentor Casey O'Connor

  • Our anthem performers, the HPHS band and team 178's quartet!

Teams were able to interact with the Medtronic Hugo robotic-assisted surgery system and WPI Admissions on Saturday, and Dillon from the Hartford Athletic and Unified Robotics on Sunday!

The two Unified Robotics teams were part of our amazing finals matches to end the day. We were excited to see a clean last match with both alliances scoring over 200 points. The HPHS home team was even part of the winning alliance!
