CHARGED UP for 2023: NE Granite State District Event

Updated: Apr 14, 2023

Though there was only one day of the Granite State District Event, there were tons of awesome CHARGED UP moments!

Salem High School in Salem, New Hampshire, was excited to host 39 teams from Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts and of course New Hampshire, for the first New England FIRST Robotics Competition qualifier of 2023. The event started off smoothly with teams loading in for inspection and setup on Thursday, March 2, but a snowstorm scheduled for Saturday caused the entire competition to be condensed and completed on Friday, March 3.

Every team made it through 8 qualification matches and alliance selection before the first double elimination tournament in New England, a new playoff format introduced by FRC this year. Seeing high scores of 97 in quals and 109 in finals, we crowned our very first CHARGED UP champions by late Friday night!

Rather than keep teams at the venue even later as the snow started to fall, a virtual awards ceremony was planned for Sunday afternoon. Watch the show online below! All teams will receive their awards at their second event of the season.

We must sincerely thank our teams, volunteers, and the event planning committee for their dedication to a safe and competitive event. Everyone made it possible for the adjusted schedule to succeed!
