Diving in to Week 1 in New England: Granite State District Event

We did it...REEFSCAPE IS HERE!

66 teams worked hard for two months to make it to a Week 1 event this year, and we know the rest of our teams are right behind them, eager for their chance to show off under the surface.

New Hampshire, the birthplace of FIRST Robotics and home of the Granite State District Event since 2014, welcomed 36 of those teams at one of our first FIRST Robotics Competition events of 2025! Early competitors traveled to the event from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and of course New Hampshire for one of our very first looks at REEFSCAPE.

Saturday morning's opening ceremonies kicked off with a special visit from FIRST founder and New Hampshire resident Dean Kamen. His hope to have FIRST and XRP robots in all schools is one we share!

New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte, Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander and Dept. of Education Commissioner Frank Edelblut also welcomed our students, highlighting how important it is to have something you care about enough to show up for on a Saturday morning and wishing everyone well.

On Sunday we heard from Maura Palmer, Superintendent of Salem School District, and Brendan Browne, FIRST alum, FRC mentor, and BAE Systems engineer.

Thank you to all of our volunteers, including the event planning committee and our venue hosts, FRC 6324, The Blue Devils from Salem, NH!

Teams made a huge splash this early in the season with high scores of 176 in qualifications and an event-winning high score of 181 in playoffs. Congratulations teams!
