Making a splash in Week 2 in New England: Waterbury District Event

What better city to host a water game than Waterbury?

Our first event in Connecticut this season hosted 37 teams from CT, MA and even all the way from New Hampshire at Wilby High School!

This year, our Connecticut events AND teams are supported by the CT Manufacturing Innovation Fund, an amazing collaboration with help from ReadyCT and NE FIRST. Paul Lavoie, Connecticut's Chief Manufacturing Officer, was joined by MIF Board Member Mark Burzynski to celebrate how Connecticut has Got it Made! #igotitmade

We were also joined by Waterbury Public Schools Interim Superintendent Dr. Darren Schwartz, City of Waterbury Mayor Paul Pernerewski, and Senator Joan Hartley for welcoming remarks. Thank you to the City and school for hosting this district event for a DECADE!

Thank you to all of our volunteers, including the event planning committee and our venue hosts, FRC 8889, Project W from Waterbury, CT!

Our emcees noticed a trend: this is the 6th time in 7 years that the finals at Waterbury have featured FRC 176 and FRC 230! Though sometimes on the same alliance, they are more frequently facing off, just like this year. Great picks for their alliance captains, FRC 7407 and FRC 2064!

Teams are diving deeper as we get further into the season: match scores are getting closer and closer, coral reefs are filling up, and strategies are changing like the tides! Congrats all!
